Institutional Responsibilities

The Ionian University (IU) and Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) shall share the responsibility for the academic and administrative oversight of the joint program. The program will be overseen by the Joint Program Committee (JPCom), comprising the two program (co)directors/coordinators, one from the IU and one from the BLCU. JPCom is responsible for strategic direction, monitoring of the program’s implementation, and resolution of academic or administrative issues that arise.

Regulatory Compliance

The operation of the program shall adhere to the internal regulations of both IU and BLCU governing doctoral studies. Where differences exist between the two regulatory frameworks, the Joint Program Committee will develop harmonized procedures documented in the Study Regulation and Operational Guidelines to ensure the program meets all requirements simultaneously. Both universities commit to abiding by their national higher education laws and any approvals required by their ministries or authorities for a joint degree program. The program’s implementation will be regularly reviewed in joint meetings to ensure ongoing compliance and quality.
