The director Professor Stavros Katsios and the Executive Director Dr. Elena Avramidou of the Hellenic Sinology Center (HSC) together with the director of the World Sinology Center Professor XU Baofeng, took part in the annual academic conference titled “Sino-Balkan Cultural Dialogue: Challenges and Perspectives in a Global Context”, jointly organized by the Bulgarian Association of Sinologists and the World Sinology Center. The conference will take place on November 7th – 9th, 2024, at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The aim of this conference is to facilitate meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas among scholars, researchers, and experts from China, the Balkans, and beyond, on the following topics:
1. Historical and Contemporary Interactions between China and the Balkans
2. Language and Translation Studies in Sino-Balkan Cultural Relations
3. Educational and Academic Exchanges between China and the Balkans
4. Art, Literature, Religion and Philosophy in Sino-Balkan Cultural Dialogue
5. Problems and Perspectives of Balkan Sinology
6. Strategies for Promoting the Development of Balkan Sinology in Secondary and
Higher Education
 
The conference program featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, paper presentations, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for participants to share their research findings, insights, and experiences related to Sino-Balkan cultural relations.
 
The delegates unanimously accepted the offer of the Hellenic Synology Center to host the next Third Sino-Balkanica Conference in Corfu
