Concept

The 3rd Sino-Balkanika Conference, organized by the Hellenic Sinology Center of the Ionian University and the World Sinology Center of Beijing Language and Culture University, aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation among scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students engaged in Sinology and Chinese studies across Southeastern Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean, and beyond. Building on the success of the previous two conferences, this edition will critically explore the evolving research in Sinology and Chinese studies, focusing on Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. The conference underscores the importance of scholarly exchange in shaping mutual understanding, policy developments, and sustainable intercultural dialogue. The interdisciplinary nature of the conference will focus on contemporary Sinological discourse, integrating cultural, heritage, educational, and technological perspectives and the Belt and Road Initiative. Special attention will be given to innovative research and education methodologies, emerging digital technologies, and their impact on cultural exchanges and international collaboration.
