The Ionian University has been added to the list of Greek universities recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education through the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE)—the official body for academic exchanges and the recognition of academic degrees in the People's Republic of China.
This development marks a significant step toward strengthening the institution's international presence, expanding opportunities for academic collaboration with Chinese universities and organizations, and facilitating the recruitment of students from China. The inclusion of the Ionian University in this list was achieved thanks to the ongoing presence of the Hellenic Center for Sinology, following an extensive collaborative process with the CSCSE and with the support of the organization "Study in Greece."
It is worth noting that in December 2024, the Ionian University signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with the CSCSE. This agreement provides for the development of joint initiatives in areas such as internationalization, student and staff mobility, academic exchanges, and the promotion of educational partnerships between Greece and China.
